About

Youth Medical Journal is a non-profit, Diamond Open Access and an international student-run publication for medically-oriented students. We continuously release peer-reviewed manuscripts in a wide range of specialties within medicine in their respective subjournals.

Our aim & scope

The aim of our publication is to develop the abilities of aspiring researchers worldwide by adopting best practices from leading journals, such as Nature, Frontiers, Elsevier, The New England Journal of Medicine, British Medical Journal, and JAMA. We adhere to a double-blind peer-review policy to ensure objectivity and fairness.

Our journal is specifically designed for students seeking to publish articles before attending university or college. We prioritize manuscripts that explore topics from novel perspectives and encourage innovative approaches.

Our values

Based on our mission, we hold high standards for the research that the Youth Medical Journal publishes.

Scientific research is key to expanding our domain of knowledge. For that reason, we believe it is incredibly important that future researchers learn how to do research that follows the best practices as early as possible. The earlier they learn it the sooner they will become established researchers. The quicker we educate aspiring researchers, we will accelerate the speed of gaining medical knowledge.

We believe research should be immediately and freely available to everyone who wishes to read it. Therefore, our content is open access, to reduce the time it takes to learn and produce meaningful research.

Upholding the highest ethical standards ensures credibility, while a commitment to collaboration creates a culture of open communication, teamwork, and innovation. These values collectively support the journal’s aim to make meaningful contributions to medical research.

Our reach

The journal serves as a catalyst for young and aspiring researchers. As a newer organization, the Youth Medical Journal has achieved remarkable visibility:
